Lip fillers in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham

Lip fillers at LUMEN begin with a conversation about balance, not volume. Marie, a Registered Nurse, looks at your lips in proportion with your whole face before discussing whether lip filler is right for you, so any change is considered and in keeping with your features.

What are lip fillers

Lip fillers use a soft hyaluronic acid gel to add shape, definition or subtle volume to the lips.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body, and lip filler products are designed to be gradually broken down over time. Products differ, so Marie will explain the one she recommends and why. Lip fillers are for adults aged 18 and over.

Lip filler questions answered

Questions, answered.

How long do lip fillers last?

It varies. Hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually broken down by the body, and how long they last depends on the product, the amount used and the individual. Marie will explain what to expect for the product she recommends.

Are lip fillers painful?

Most people describe a stinging or pressure sensation rather than pain. Many lip filler products contain a local anaesthetic, and a numbing cream may also be used. Marie will talk you through what to expect.

What is the aftercare for lip fillers?

For the first day or so you will usually be advised to avoid touching or pressing your lips, wearing lipstick, strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat such as saunas. Swelling and bruising can take a few days to settle. You will receive written aftercare instructions.

Will my lips look natural?

Marie plans every treatment around your features, and the aim is lips that suit your face. Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed, so she will talk honestly about what is realistic for you.

Can lip fillers be dissolved?

Most hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with a dissolving medicine if needed, following an assessment. Dissolving carries its own risks, which Marie will explain.

Who can have lip fillers?

Lip fillers are only for adults aged 18 and over. They may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a cold sore or infection near the lips, or have certain medical conditions. Marie will check your suitability at your consultation.
